Nearing Hong Kong July 25th 1914
My dear
Miss Parkin. The weather is so hot.
That I can scarcely write. We were ashore at Manila yesterday.
It is quite Oriental. It made us feel a long way from home.
It is a bit rough today for thie first time since leaving Sydney.
